Candle Claims To Offer That New Mac Smell Without The New Mac Price

If you’re the kind of person who takes long, deep whiffs when you unbox a new Mac computer, one company says it has just the product to fill your nostrils — without the hefty price tag.

Because there’s a candle scent for everything for everything from fried chicken to the smell of a discount department store chain, Apple accessory company Twelve South is peddling a candle that sounds like a brand spankin’ new Mac computer (h/t The Verge).

At $24, the hand-poured, 100% soy wax candle is much cheaper than your average Mac hardware. As it turns out, newly unboxed Macs apparently smell like the specialty cocktail at that new hipster bar down the street, with notes of mint, peach, basil, lavender, mandarin, and sage included in the candle’s aromatic profile.

This could be a good product for anyone who has an old Mac they’re embarrassed by: “Is that a new computer?” your friends might say. “Yes, I am making investments in my technological future with the newest electronics!” you’ll say, while surreptitiously shoving the candle out of eyesight. You’ll have 45-55 hours of burn time to perpetuate that lie. After that, you’re gonna need another candle.
